BBC World Service – People Fixing the World

Liv Torc (Hot Poets) and Kat Bruce (NatureMetrics) have taken part in a new episode of People Fixing the World on the BBC World Service, talking about the amazing work Hot Poets does in the UK and internationally to give climate action and science a better story.

The show focuses on Hot Poets’ work in the climate space at international conferences, using creative interventions and on-the-spot poetry writing to enliven real-life debates and help empower pivotal moments of change.

“Can poetry change how we think, feel and act? We’re looking at how poetry is being used in some innovative and unexpected ways. We’ll hear from the Hot Poets – a group who ‘live translate’ at conferences on everything from climate change to coding. They’ve taken part in several UN climate change meetings – listening to complex presentations on science and summarising the information in a poem. They say it helps bring little known – but positive – news about climate science to a wider audience, changing despair into hope.’ – BBC World Service
