Children and young people are experiencing considerable climate anxiety, beginning their adult life with a sense of existential threat and a perception that it’s too late and there’s nothing to be done. We want to change that. From our experience as facilitators working with the UN and leading climate organisations and universities, along with our ongoing research in schools, it is evident that there is a need for more nuanced storytelling around climate change and the environment. To shift the focus from all that is wrong, to a balance with all that is possible!

HOT POETS EDUCATION – IGNITE THE WONDER will:

• Re-frame the way climate change and the arts are taught – enhancing the curriculum with a focus on science, nature, action, creativity and cross-curricular thinking.
• Empower children and young people by creating strategies for resilience around environmental change, improving mental health and well-being.
• Improve the knowledge and skills of teachers, facilitators and home educators, increasing confidence in communicating climate solutions and managing climate anxiety.
